Tasty Cinnamon Cookies Made Easy With A Stand Mixer
Baking old fashioned cookies has always been a major effort. That has changed now that there are so many good stand mixers available to help you with creaming the butter and sugar as well as with beating in the eggs.
The first stand mixers that became available were either too big and bulky or they were not strong enough to really do more than beating the eggs and sugar. Now that has changed completely. Today it is possible to get ones that are relatively small yet strong enough to make bread dough without wobbling.
Most of them also come with a wire beater, a paddle beater and a dough hook. This makes it possible to mix any kind of dough you can think of, from beating egg whites for a meringue to making bread dough.
You will also find a wide variety of attachments that will make life even easier for you. What is good about these attachments are that you can choose which ones you need and which ones you will not use. This means a saving in the long run as you do not have to pay for something you will not be using.
Another good feature most stand mixers have these days are an automatic switch off. Make sure that when you are looking at some that you take this in consideration of you love making bread as it can prevent damage to the motor of your mixer. If you are never going to use your dough hook, this is not such an important feature for you.
To give you an idea of the kind of recipe your will be making with easy, here is a really old fashioned cinnamon cookies recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup cake flour
- 2 Teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Cup sugar
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 Teaspoon baking powder1 pound of butter
- Pinch of salt
Method:
- Cream the butter and sugar
- Add eggs one at a time beating very well after each
- Add the vanilla.
- Fold in the sifted dry ingredients
- Mix well
- Roll out and cut into required shapes
- Bake at 350 - 375 degrees Fahrenheit until light brown and done.
So, as you can see, if you had to do all this by hand it would really be difficult, but with a stand mixer it really becomes very easy.
