Sweet Strawberry! An Exquisite Treat Simply Made!
If you're the person with the sweet tooth, then this dish is just perfect for you. If you fancy strawberries and you love everything that is sweet, I have the right dessert for you!I have included several of my strawberry treats that you will surely indulge in. Delight your senses with these special dishes that I am about to share to all of you! I have the Almond- Strawberry Crumble.
If you're a diabetic, fret not, I have included some tips on making this dessert and adjusting it just for you. I also have Strawberry Ice Cream Cookie Cups that probably will take awhile but I am so sure that at the end, your effort will pay off.
Almond Strawberry Crumble
Ingredients: 5 cups of strawberries cut into halves (fresh)
1/4 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons of all purpose flour
Have your oven preheated at 350 *F. Mix apple, strawberries, vanilla, sugar and your flour on a bowl (make sure that it can accommodate all your ingredients). Mix. Spread evenly on a wide baking pan. You can have unsweetened berries (the ones frozen and are readily available in markets).
Toppings: 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup oats (rolled)
1/2 cup almonds, sliced
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 tablespoons of butter Mix flour, almonds, oats, brown sugar and nutmeg together in a bowl.
Add butter in to the mixture. As long as you will have small butter crumbs, that is fine. Sprinkle topping to your fruit preparation. Bake for about twenty five minutes until you'll notice that it has turned to a lighter brown. After baking, have it cooled on a rack. Fifteen minutes will do.
If you're diabetic, you can substitute sugar on this dish with Splenda and replace brown sugar with two tablespoons of Splenda.
Strawberry Ice-cream Cookie Cups
Ingredients:
1/3 cup toasted hazelnuts
2 tablespoons of flour
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 pint ice cream (French vanilla)
1 pint washed and hulled strawberries (fresh)
Have your oven preheated at 375 *F.
Prepare your baking pan by greasing it. In your food processor, add sugar and nuts. Blend. Make sure you have your nuts finely grounded. On a bowl, beat egg white until frothy. Mix nuts while stirring with spatula. Add flour and butter. On your baking pan, have two mounds of batter (a quarter of a batter for each).
Have them three inches apart and spread every mound to circles about four and a half inch in diameter. Bake for about seven minutes until edges reach a brown color. Cool baking sheet and repeat procedure. Line wax paper on your baking pan. Have about 12 scoops of ice-cream spread evenly on the pan.
Place pan inside your freezer. Have your fruit preserves and sliced strawberries in a container. Puree three fourths of mixture. After having puree done, divide it into four on your serving plates. At the middle of every plate, put cookie aesthetically. Place three ice-cream balls into every cup and sprinkle the remaining strawberries on top. Have fun! Indulge!

How old is too old to trick or treat?
What do you think? I am 17, but I love candy and I want to do something fun this year. Is it "not cool" for me to trick or treat anymore?
Oh, PS I am going as Peter Pan, so not like it is an adult type costume. I am a little kid at heart so.....
I love this question!!!! You are never to old to trick or treat. One time when my friends and I were at her house when we were done and some college kids were trick or treating and they had matching shist that said something like " College kids like candy too!!!" I thought that was the funniest thing. Have fun!!!!!!
