How to Write a Petition

So, you have decided to start a petition?

Unfortunately, writing a petition might seem like an overwhelming task at first. How do you start? What information do you need, and what does it take to succeed? With the right preparation and the right choice of a hosting site, it is actually not that difficult and with the flexibility of modern online petition hosting, it is actually easier than ever.

This article will give you a quick and easy-to-use guide, stating the key points, for creating the base for a successful online petition. You will be ready to start your first campaign in a matter of minutes.

The key to starting a petition is preparation! The first thing you should do is look at some sample petitions to get inspiration and perhaps use the most successful petitions as a template for your own. You need to appeal to two audiences: the signers of your petition and the recipient(s). You can do this by providing relevant and easily accessible information and by choosing a hosting platform that will appeal to the followers of your campaign, a place where you can create a community around your request.

The second thing you need to do is identify the target of the petition. This can be a government, county, state, company, or organization. Try to target a role rather than an individual. Once this is done, you can move on to writing the actual petition, which should begin with a request, presenting some well-researched reasons for making that request and offering your suggestions for change. The change(s) you are trying to make through your petition should be realistic and achievable to be able to attract other people, but you should also be ambitious. Try to think big.

It is very important that you are clear, concise, and objective in your description. It shouldn't  take long for someone to understand what change you are trying to achieve through your petition. Avoid adding too much information or anything that is not connected to the main message. You should, furthermore, add background information and supporting documentation to put your petition into context. This information is specifically directed toward the signers of your petition. By providing relevant information, people can easily understand and identify with your request, which, ultimately, will make them more likely to participate.

Finally, you should proofread your petition to make sure it doesn't contain spelling errors. This is necessary for your petition to appear serious and professional.

So, those are some of the key steps for creating the base for a successful online petition. You need to prepare correctly, identify your target, communicate in a clear and concise way, and finally proofread everything several times. Once you've done this, you are ready to start your campaign and begin promoting it.

how many cups of frosting do i need for 100 petit fours?

My sister-in-law's wedding is on saturday and I am making her wedding cake. There will be a two tiered cake for the actual cake cutting ceremony and for the guests I am making about 100 petit fours (little cakes, about the size of two twinkies). How many cups of buttercream will I need?

about a gallon. But I would not "frost" the petit fours, I would do the glaze and maybe coat them 2 to 3 times. It will be easier and faster.

You can glaze the cake also!!

set the cake or cakes on a rack over a sheet of foil on a cookie sheet and pour the library paste thickness glaze over them. Scrape up the glaze on the cookie sheet and rebeat to smooth and pour it over again, and maybe again if it isn't as smooth as you would like.

I did this with a couple of cakes in the bakery. They turned out great, super smooth and glossy and very easy to decorate. This is also the traditional method of icing petit fours.
